Cross Roads Escape Games’ Hex Room has a reputation for being one of the best escape rooms in Southern California, if not the whole country. Their innovative twist on the form has fans and fellow creators alike eager to see what they dream up next.

The wait is over with The Psych Ward “A Strategic Escape Game of Trust and Betrayal.”

The new room is a point-based game that pits players against each other: which also means that no two runs are going to be exactly alike. Given the one-and-done nature of escape rooms, this change is a big deal.

Press Release Follows

The Psych Ward is an immersive game of deduction and betrayal with escape room and immersive theatre elements. Set in a decrepit psychiatric hospital in the early 1970s, The Psych Ward pits two teams competing against each other for the goal of getting the most points. The catch: they don’t know who is telling the truth.

Sane or Insane? Trustworthy or not? These are the questions Dr. Griffin wants you to answer. He has created a social experiment for a select group of patients. Some of these patients he believes are sane, others, completely insane. Like lab rats, he has put you inside his twisted experiment and challenges you to figure out who to trust and who to betray. But can Dr. Griffin even be trusted?

Luke and Madison Rhoades, creators and owners of Cross Roads Escape Games, elevated the escape room industry with their award-winning game, The Hex Room. This game- changing experience paved the way for more original work by the husband and wife team who are determined to break the ‘escape room’ mold and create more unique interactive experiences.

There is more inside the Psych Ward then can be uncovered in your first visit, making this one of the very few re-playable escape games. Come back with new strategies your second time around and see if you can uncover even more sinister secrets.

Tickets range from $32-$35 per person. The game is 60 minutes long and for 5–8 players over the age of 16. Cross Roads Escape Games is open Wednesday-Sunday until 11:30pm, all year long. This game is not scary, although you may be put in psychologically uncomfortable situations. There will be an actor inside the game that you may need to interact with.
