NoPro readers are no strangers to the work of Secret City Adventures or the world of Rian Johnson’s Knives Out Mysteries, so it pleases us to inform you that the former is teaming up with Netflix to create something set in the later this Spring in Toronto.
The Perfect Bite, A Dinner Experience inspired by Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is set to open on May 16th for a six week run that puts a Johnsonian twist on the murder mystery dinner. Given Secret City Adventures pedigree, with events like The Wedding Party, hungry sleuths are bound to be in good hands.

No Proscenium: Tell us a little bit about your experience! What’s it about? What makes it immersive?
Tina Keenan: The Perfect Bite, A Dinner Experience inspired by Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is a unique experience that is launching for the first time in Toronto. Guests will be immersed in a whodunnit murder mystery, set alongside a live cast of intriguing characters as guests dine on an elevated four-course meal.
As part of Toronto’s culinary elite,you’re invited to an exclusive event hosted by acclaimed chef, Maribelle Moore. Shortly after you arrive, Maribelle shockingly reveals that the menu she’s created for the evening will reveal a dark secret about the Salty Six, the renowned culinary supergroup formed by Maribelle and five other chefs back when they were students. With the other members of the Salty Six also in attendance, tensions begin to run high and it isn’t long before a murderer strikes again. Luckily, one of the world’s best detectives, Logan Locke, is on the scene to investigate and help you decipher the clues hidden within Maribelle’s menu. Each course contains vital information and it’s up to you and your team to sift through evidence and determine whodunnit. As you feast on food-based puzzles you’ll unravel the twists and turns to solve this captivating mystery.
NP: What was the inspiration for your upcoming experience?
TK: Recent shows and films such as The Bear, The Menu and Chef’s Table pointed to a newfound appreciation for the culinary arts in todays’ audiences. At the same time, we had already been exploring other immersive dining concepts and had some passionate foodies on our team.
The opportunity to develop an elevated murder mystery dinner in collaboration with Netflix, inspired by the thrilling universe of the Knives Out film series, is something the team has been hoping to bring to life for a while, and we can’t wait for Torontonians to check out this one-of-a-kind experience.
NP: What do you think fans of immersive will find most interesting about this latest experience?
TK: The combination of a beautiful, elevated four course meal, food based puzzles, brought to life by a cast of intriguing characters, inspired by the Glass Onion: Knives Out Mystery series is a must-try experience for movie fans, mystery buffs and foodies alike.
NP: Once you started designing and testing what did you discover about this experience that was unexpected?
TK: We discovered all kinds of unexpected interpretations of the story and puzzles. One memorable moment was seeing players dig into their food in search for additional clues. Needless to say, we had to rework some of the food puzzles so that people felt more compelled to eat their dinner than rummage through it.
NP: What can fans who are coming to this, or thinking about coming to this, do to get into the mood of the experience?
TK: Put your detective hat on and dive into the world of mystery through books or movies to prepare for the experience. A great place to start is by watching Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, available exclusively on Netflix.
