Everything Immersive This Week (11/23/2019)
What a week!
This was a shockingly busy week for us here at NoPro with ten brand new reviews (!!!) hitting the site along with the usual assortment of newswire updates and features. And truth be told: we’re not really slowing down.
The month ahead is going to see some real fun break out here across the site, and we’re giddy to get going.
With that in mind, let’s get to it!

ON THE PODCAST THIS WEEK
How did we get so lucky?
Last week we sat down with Ben Snow (director of ‘Vader Immortal’), Alyssa Finley (producer Ep. II and III), and John Nguyen (design director, Ep. III) of the ILMxLAB and Colum Slevin head of media in the AR/VR experiences team at Oculus to talk about Vader Immortal Episode III, the final chapter of the series.
We dig into what the team has learned across the arc of three episodes, and so much more.
Plus: two Noah rants. Woof.
BONUS EPISODE: Edward Saatchi of Fable Studio on Virtual Beings

STORIES
From David & Lisa Spira of Room Escape Artist:
When we visited Detroit in August of 2019 we found an escape room market on the rise… and it was truly exciting to behold. We’re looking forward to seeing where Detroit is heading!
From Kent Bye of the Voices of VR podcast:
The Under Presents launched this week on the Quest, and I rounded up the coverage in this Twitter thread starting with my interview with Tender Claws unpacking their experiential design process. There’s a four-month initial run with live actors, and I’m hoping this piece can find enough support from the theater, storytelling, indie art crowd to make a statement to the Oculus brass that we need more of these types of narrative experiments. It’s a bit of a miracle this type of experimental piece was funded by Oculus, and I’d personally love to see a lot more of it in the future.

A conversation thread at E.I. about “when is intense too intense” and the use of safewords.
Not to get political, but here’s Elizabeth Warren in an escape room. Scrap the debates, this is how we should pick candidates.
