It’s our favorite time of the week — time for everything immersive that happened over the last seven days! What was up in Immersive-ville? Well, Secret Cinema talked to The Stage about their latest experience based upon Casino Royale. Apple announced a bunch of ARKit features at WWDC including people occlusion, motion capture, and more, and Microsoft demoed the Minecraft Earth augmented experience at the conference, as well! The Oculus Quest continues to sell well according to reports from Amazon. TodayTix released some statistics, including one that sales of immersive theatre performances grew 600% from 2016 to 2018 globally on their ticketing platform. And we learned about how the film Groundhog Day influenced the narrative design in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

As for us, we here at NoPro reviewed a fast food-sponsored experiential marketing pop-up, the final chapter of the Speakeasy Society’s Kansas Collection, an interactive one-man show at an art museum, a digital art center in Paris, and a “museum of memories” at Wildrence in NYC.

We have also started our reporting on the Overlook Film Festival with the latest episode of the podcast starring Noah and Cara (with so much more to come).

REVIEWS

From No Proscenium:

From David & Lisa Spira of Room Escape Artist:

“If you love dinosaurs, check out this room at Escaparium in Montreal.”

“The Underground Bar at Sauve Qui Peut in Montreal opened as a fairly traditional puzzle-focused escape room in a bar transitioned into something considerably more outlandish.”

STORIES

From NoProscenium.com and our Twitter feed:

From David & Lisa Spira of Room Escape Artist:

“Here are some simple, inexpensive ways to make escape rooms more accessible for people with colorblindness:”

From Michael Anderson of ARGN:

“Michael appeared on ‘The Original Podcast’ with Inside A Mind’s Jamie and The Looney Turtle’s Eric to talk about alternate reality games and musical circus-themed escape rooms:”

“Reports of secret black Kyber crystals at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge are popping up here and there. This article walks through some of the findings from those lucky enough to hunt them down.”

From Laura E. Hall of Timberview Productions:

“I love ‘Disneybounding’ — closet cosplay, dressing in stylized clothing that’s just short of a costume. You can see people in the background of photos of Batuu, strolling around in their Star Wars-inspired outfits. Details that make it feel like a real world:”

From Kent Bye of the Voices of VR podcast:
