Capital W’s Red Flags is one of the great one-on-one immersive shows in Los Angeles. The piece is a kind of mental magic trick: a highly scripted show that feels like an organic conversation that unfolds as you go on a date with a rather intense young woman.

Can the magic translate to the era of Being Inside™?

We’ll find out.

Best Bad Date: Red Flags (Preview)

Official Description Follows

Capital W’s long-running bad date experience is coming to your laptop.

Like many of us, Emma has taken her dating life fully online. That will probably work out great. Come escape into the awkward hilarity of the worst date you’ll ever go on in this online adaptation of the show named “Best Overall Immersive Work” at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

This edition of RED FLAGS is an adaptation of Capital W’s award-winning IRL show, a highly interactive theater experience for audiences of one-at-a-time. On this fictional first date, audiences “meet” and experience the character of Emma — a woman who was already struggling to make sense of her life in Los Angeles before shit got locked down. Over the course of their hour alone together, the audience member and Emma get to know one another intimately, discovering the misunderstandings and unexpected connections of a bad date.

Starring Lauren Flans, Haylee Nichele, and Heather Ann Gottlieb

Content Advisories:

Some exchanges with Emma can get pretty personal, and there’s some unsettling material told as personal stories by the character.
