Following a spook-tacular first year, Into The Dark — the Bay Area production company spawned from the creative, twisted minds of Peaches Christ, David Flower Productions, and Non Plus Ultra — announces the return of Terror Vault, the interactive and fully-immersive haunted attraction. In addition, Into The Dark announces the debut of Apocalypse, a zombie-filled escape room experience. Taking place at the iconic San Francisco Mint (88 5th St.), these interactive experiences will feature brand-new storylines, sets, and characters, and will combine elements of theater, special effects, haunted mazes, games, and puzzles. In addition to the two attractions, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy themed cocktails and tasty treats at The Gold Bar and Madam Zola’s pop-up café. A pop-up retail space, CreepShop, offering merchandise from Kreepsville 666, a Haunted Arcade with spooky vintage pinball games, interactive experience rooms, an Instagram room, psychics, and more, will make the historic San Francisco Mint the Bay Area’s go-to Halloween destination this Fall. “After such a successful first year of Terror Vault, we decided to return to the ‘Granite Lady’ and make the terrifying experience bigger and even better,” said Peaches Christ. “The opportunity to utilize more of this iconic building, to take more chances, to build upon everything we learnt in year one is beyond exciting to myself, David Flower, and the Non Plus Ultra team. Our creativity is running wild with all new sets, scenes, characters, and story-line. We’re building upon the natural history of The San Francisco Mint and leveraging both new technology and veteran tricks of the trade for a unique, terrifying, and fun experience unlike any other.”

Thrill seekers will discover the untold stories and dark history of The San Francisco Mint when they descend into the dark on an unforgettable journey that puts them face-to-face with the despicable horrors that continue to terrorize the storied venue and its vaults. Inspired by San Francisco and The Mint, local producers, designers, artists, and veteran fear experts have combined genuine history with modern technological magic to create interactive haunted
experiences unlike any other attraction. Terror Vault and Apocalypse are imaginative historical horror come-to-life with the city’s top performers…and screamers.

Guests who aren’t comfortable interacting with the murderous characters they encounter during the experience can choose to “opt-out” anytime by not wearing the provided neon necklace; the lack of a necklace signals to actors that the person does not wish to be touched or actively engage in a scene, instead allowing them to be a passive participant watching the story unfold around them.

Terror Vault lasts approximately 45 minutes for groups up to 10, with time slots available every fifteen minutes between 6:30–10 p.m. Apocalypse lasts 30 minutes for groups up to 8. Hauntgoers are invited to enjoy a festive drink or themed treat at The Gold Bar and Madam Zola’s pop-up café before or after their allotted starting time. The bars and café will be open every night of the production, with bartenders and servers in full fright attire.

Tickets for Terror Vault are $62 and are available for advance purchase online. Tickets for Apocalpyse are $35 and available for advance purchase online or on-site, subject to availability. There is a $5 discount for those who purchase tickets for both attractions. Guests without a ticket to Terror Vault or Apocalypse who would like to experience the haunted San Francisco Mint and enjoy a themed beverage may purchase a $10 night pass. Patrons must be 21 or over with valid
I.D. to visit on Friday and Saturday evenings, and 18 or over the other days of the week.

An additional offering this year is a behind-the-scenes walk thru with producer Joshua Grannell (AKA Peaches Chris’s alter-ego) on Sunday afternoons for $50. This exclusive experience is for those who wish to learn more about the creation of the two attractions and/or would rather go through with the lights turned on and no scare-actors lurking. The Sunday day tour is also an opportunity for those below the age of 18 to experience Terror Vault and Apocalypse, although
they must be accompanied by an adult and parents are advised to exercise discretion. Group packages are available Tuesday–Thursday evenings during the engagement. The package is for a three-hour time slot, and includes tickets for the whole party, a private room with an open full bar, and access to the entire venue (including the main bar and food concession). A minimum of 50 people is required for the group rate, with packages starting at $123+tax per person.

Contact Level: If audience members would like to opt-in for interactivity they’re given the opportunity at the beginning of the show to wear a red glow necklace while they tour. The necklace lets the actors know that the guest has consented to be touched, written on, pulled away from their group and isolated for a scene, or fed something. The touching is very light and is designed to startle, never hurt, and it will never occur in a “bathing suit area.”

Content Advisories: While this show does have nudity and sexuality woven into it, we don’t depict scenes of sexual violence or rape. It’s absolutely not our style. The show is designed to be an immersive horror show that is entertaining rather than disturbing or upsetting. The show has adult content (full nudity!) and humor, and sexual references, fog, and strobe lights
