The 2020 NoPro Audience Awards — NOMINATIONS OPEN

For years we’ve avoided doing awards, if for no other reason than the nature of immersive work made that difficult. How does one “compare” a show that had 30 total tickets and ran for a week in a suburban strip mall to a production with a seven figure budget that ran for six months and put 30,000 people through in a major metropolis?
You can’t.
But the pandemic era has leveled the field in so many ways, and while we lament what we are — temporarily — unable to do, with so many companies making the pivot from IRL to URL we want to celebrate the work that has been going on in that time honored tradition: END OF THE YEAR AWARDS.
The NoPro staff will be issuing our own editorially driven awards, but we want to balance that out with audience awards in as many categories as possible.
Below you will find a link to the Nomination Form for the the 2020 Audience Awards. Nominations are open until 10AM PST on Dec. 9, 2020. One ballot per person, one nominee per category.
SUBMISSIONS THAT NAME A SINGLE SHOW IN *EVERY* CATEGORY WILL BE DISCARDED.
(I mean, that’s not even physically possible.)

Voting will open on 12/10 in all categories where we received as least THREE qualifying nominees, with up to the TOP FIVE nominees competing in the final tally. Voting will close on 12/16 at 10AM PST.
The Awards will be announced on the Podcast and published on Dec. 18th.
Pay attention to the requirements for each category. Events and experiences that are submitted which don’t meet the qualification for a category will be summarily rejected.
Above all else: it’s gotta be IMMERSIVE, INTERACTIVE, EXPERIENTIAL or some combination thereof. (So that means no staged readings on Zoom, for example.)
